Tornado touching down less than a 1/2 mile from our location west of York, NE. The storm did miss the farm in this photo, but a few farms were hit and a train was derailed as it moved to the northeast.
Bellevue, Nebraska flooding 6/20/11 1 (
Greyelf)
Taken 6/20/11 at Haworth Park, which is right along the Missouri River. Note the gazebo on the left 1/3 of the shot that I've made reference to in prior shots (5/28/11 when flooding first started and later shot on 6/13/11). The gazebo now has water in it almost up to it's roof. Of note, when I drove by again this morning on 6/21/11, the water had raised again after last night's rain. I'm never getting back into that gazebo at this rate.

I guess we shoudln't mention our parents taking us to a live performance also! ;)
Does make it easier to chase the ball down when it is slowed down by water. :|
Just looked at some surface observations, satellite loops, and radar and there does appear to be a weak surface low overland moving northbound towards the thunderstorms over Southern Texas and Northern Mexico. This is clearly evident as you can see the convection bending in towards the low and radar also shows thunderstorms curving towards the defined spin on radar.
Not looking for any development from this considering its overland, but an interesting feature to note that could add more lift to the atmosphere over Southern Texas and Northern Mexico through the day.
It is possible to end up with unintended consequences.
Good One.
But that tree next to the Station.
Got to cut that down you know.
And all that grass in front....
It can cause False Results on the Guages.
Tree could even cast a shadow which might result in Global Cooling.
Would be more in keeping with the general trend to pave with asphalt for 1000 yards, all around.
hehehhh
i do not understand you
Looks like an ol' fashioned showdown at the border...
But sometimes it turns out all right:
Watermelon auctioned for $6,100 in Japan
The problem is that they're ambulatory 800 lb cucumbers
Easy to harvest, though...
"here, cucumber, come on now, follow me to the packing department.."
I didn't realize so much of North Dakota drained to the North.
...
Too much water late in the season make melons explode here too, even without the hormones.
Too much water is not our issue now.
What does fire do to melons?
Active fire imagery
Dere is also one "Big, Cold, High Mississippi River about 300 feet away as well.

i was seeing the central atlantic system
Knew what you were referring to, but not the name. I admit it, I had to look it up. :)
Yeah, I see that.
But it's all a conspiracy as you know.
That river was put there AFTER the Weather Station was erected.
Surely...
Also maybe here.
Oh geez.... I'm no prude, but I like having a job. Appropriate use of "NSFW" warnings is always appreciated ya know...
my mind told me i should proceed with caution.

Amen!! Loving this rain....
Oh no, I wasn't offended... sorry if that wasn't clear. Like I said, I'm no prude. Had the link been to the full article, instead of just that image, it might've been a little less, um, "in your face". I work at a professional consulting company and nobody thinks twice about a little idle browsing of news, weather, sports, etc... but my monitor faces in such a way that others might see it and I'd prefer they not get the wrong idea about my downtime activities...
Indeed - a TS right off the west Florida coast gets my attention...
