Northern Rosebud

Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 03:26 AM MDT am 20. Mai 2013

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of south central Montana and southeast Montana...
including the following counties... in south central Montana...
Big Horn. In southeast Montana... Carter... Powder River...
Rosebud and Treasure.

* Through late tonight

* rainfall will continue today and tonight over much of the area.
Locally heavy amounts are possible. Remember... it does not take
much rain in a short period of time to cause flash flooding and
debris flows in and downstream of areas affected by wildfires.

* The areas at risk are within... downstream or downslope of burn
areas from the wildfires which occurred last year. This includes
the Sarpy hill... Coal seam... chalky... Sand Creek... Ash Creek...
Taylor... Dutch... and Dugan fires.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flash flooding and debris flows are very dangerous. Be aware of
your environment. Be prepared to take action on short notice if
heavy rainfall occurs. Because flash floods in these areas occur
so quickly... do not wait for a warning to take action.
